Helping Kids, Teens & Young Adults Who Feel “Stuck”
Do any of these sound familiar?
Your child or teen is often dysregulated — has meltdowns, shutdowns, or big emotions that seem to come out of nowhere.
You’re worried about their social skills, hygiene, or peer relationships and aren’t sure how to help without conflict.
ADHD symptoms are getting in the way of school or work performance — missing assignments, incomplete tasks, poor time management, and lost opportunities
You’ve asked for help and feel like you’re hitting a wall — or you’re not sure what to ask for in the first place.
If this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.
You don’t have to figure this out on your own.
How Closer Horizons Helps
At Closer Horizons, we offer a combination of:
Horizon Circles
(Small Groups)
Skills-based groups that focus on emotion regulation, coping strategies, social skills, and real-life problem solving—so your child or teen doesn’t feel alone in their struggles.
Counseling & Skills Training Sessions
One-on-one support that blends modified CBT, coaching, and goal-setting methods to track progress over time. We practice specific strategies your child, teen, or young adult can use at home, at school, and in the community.
Strengths-Based Evaluations
Comprehensive, neurodiversity-affirming evaluations that look beyond “what’s wrong” to highlight strengths, learning styles, and support needs. These evaluations can guide school accommodations (IEPs, 504 plans), private school support or re-evaluations, and college and workplace accommodations.
My goal is to leverage your child, teen, or young adult’s unique strengths to help them manage the things that feel hardest right now.
